His title had lengthy been on the record of potential Nobel Prize winners. This Thursday, the Swedish Academy named Norwegian playwright and creator Jon Fosse the winner of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Literature. The huge oeuvre of the 64-year-old, born in 1959 on the west coast of Norway, contains performs, novels, poetry, essays , kids’s books and translations. The committee praised Fosse’s “progressive performs and prose that give voice to the unspeakable”, and his “capability to evoke man’s lack of orientation”.
